Kristian Verono
Kristian Verono's multidisciplinary style has made him one of the most exciting new artists in his home province of Quebec, as well as across the globe. Verono is represented in galleries from Miami, Florida to Dusseldorf Germany, and has produced work for both individual and corporate collections. His dynamic works, which draw from the traditions of performance art, painting and photography, are both beautifully abstract and highly expressive portraits of his models. Verono demonstrates the endless skill of the modern artist at integrating both modern forms of digital art with more traditional methods of portraiture and painting.
For his latest project entitled "MY VERONO" Verono is reviving the noble virtues of portraiture. Ascribing a new twist of vibrant dynamism, his portraits are infused with a sensual physicality and passion. No more endless hours of posing, instead, his subjects enjoy an exclusive portrait experience like no other.
Portraiture may have lost some of its noble value. Nevertheless, Verono's artistic explorations of figures and nudes led to creations that combined both painting and photography. As a result, he created a unique corporal experience, where the subject is the canvas for an abstract depiction. His subjects stand naked, covered in white paint, and are placed up against a white wall. Inspired by the mood of the moment and his subject, Verono then throws colors at paint directly at the figure.
The powers of colors collide with the organic forms of the human figure. A mixture of dynamic movement and inert are immortalized. The act of creation is then captured through the lens of the camera, subsequently creating the contemporary figurative portrait. |
